These advanced devices, generously provided by the Government of Japan and UNDP, mark an important step in enhancing Fiji’s border security.
The equipment will be stationed at Nadi International Airport, Suva Port, and in other strategic locations, allowing our officers to detect narcotics, explosives, and hazardous substances swiftly and safely. This aligns with Fiji’s National Countering Illicit Narcotics Strategy 2023-2028, strengthening our efforts to secure our borders and protect our communities.
Minister Tikoduadua expressed his gratitude to our partners, emphasizing the importance of this support in fortifying Fiji’s role in regional security. Together, we are building a safer, more resilient Fiji for all.
